Financial Accountant

Core Optimisation is a rapidly growing Google Premier Partner and Meta Business Partner digital agency
and due to a pending Maternity leave in our Finance department, we are looking for a Financial Accountant for a 12-month, Fixed Term, Maternity leave cover contract, starting in May 2026.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in financial accounting or financial administration and
will work alongside our CFO and our Accounts Assistant. As a Financial Accountant within the Core Optimisation’s finance team, you will play a pivotal role in planning, budgeting and reporting on the Digital Marketing business objectives. The right candidate must be passionate about digital and the delivery of exceptional customer experience. Our business is exciting and dynamic, and we are looking for a flexible and driven individual who thrives in a busy environment.

It is expected that this role will be a 12-month FTC on a 4-day week (30 hours), based in Shannon.

Roles and responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:
• Monthly payroll processing
• Manage and process accounts payable and receivable transactions. Ensure timely and accurate
recording of financial transactions.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables, facilitating collections.
• Generate and issue invoices to clients in conjunction with the sales team.
• Expenses processing ensuring proper compliance with the process across the business
• Perform reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• Preparation and filing of VAT Returns and PAYE returns,
• Assist the CFO in the monthly closing of the financial period in a timely manner
• Assist in preparing Monthly Financial reports such as P&L and Cashflow
• Act as a liaison between Finance and the rest of the business regarding new customers and
leads.
• Any other Ad Hoc projects that the CFO may deem necessary

Skills and Competencies:
• 3-5 years proven experience as a Financial Accountant/ Finance Administrator or similar role
• Strong team player
• Strong organisational, multitasking skills, analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven success working with all levels of management
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
• Experience with Netsuite or similar ERP system a distinct advantage
